Threads of Continuity. The Intended Surface
An antique family iron rests among fragments of lace, thread and objects waiting to be repaired, joined and restored. The title draws on the geographical idea of a surface shaped towards equilibrium. For me, the domestic act of ironing carries a similar intention: smoothing without erasing, bringing disparate elements towards balance. Mending, sewing and pressing become small acts of restoration — ways of creating order through attention and intent.
