~ Happiness! - A lifelong quest and a mystery of obvious. What does one's happiness entail? ~
One assumes that the concept of happiness has been explored since the beginning of consciousness. And yet, living in the most advanced times we are still intrigued by the subject.
So many things can make us happy – a combination of ordinary, peculiar and even imaginary at times. Can you be always certain though about the tangibility of your reality? Is it all the actual truth or a result of your 'teasefull' imagination?
The riches of the wines do attempt to facilitate this exploration. The welcoming atmosphere of The Black Book Bar; the experience of it's delicious cocktails and wines; delightful visitors & staff have certainly became an asset in my own "Happiness Toolbox". No other subjects but the Bar itself was on my mind when I started producing this body of work.
With the help of Fabrizio Canino, the Black Book's manager, we have collected the corks and some other items which have become the focal point in some of the images. The photos also do include various objects {some of which are more than a century old} from my family archive / collection. A combination of the old and new provides the sensation of belonging and continuation upon which the Happiness can manifest itself.
